Flame
Cooking over fire creates more than smoke. It changes texture, sharpens flavour and gives each dish its own rhythm.

Contemporary Asian cooking, Australian produce and a wine list made for long dinners.
The menu moves between small plates, fire-led dishes and late-night drinks, designed to be shared across the table.

Yuzu kosho, burnt citrus, shiso and smoked oil.
“Cooked quickly over flame to keep the centre clean and delicate, then finished with acidity and smoke.”
Mika Tan · Chef

Low light, open flame and a dining room designed for long evenings.

Cooking over fire creates more than smoke. It changes texture, sharpens flavour and gives each dish its own rhythm.
The menu changes with what is growing, landing and tasting best right now.

The list moves between small Australian producers, considered imports and bottles chosen for food rather than status.

Mika’s cooking draws on Japanese, Korean and South-East Asian flavours, shaped by years spent in Melbourne kitchens and a preference for simple ingredients treated with precision.
“Fire should reveal the ingredient, not hide it.”

For larger groups and private dining a minimum spend can apply depending on the night and the room. We’ll confirm the details when you enquire.
We hold a handful of seats at the bar for walk-ins each night, but the dining room books out — a reservation is the surest way to a table.
Plenty. Vegetables sit at the centre of the fire menu, not on the side, and there’s always a full vegetarian path through a shared dinner.
Around two hours for most tables, which suits a few plates and a bottle. Larger groups and private dining are given more time.
